"The task of the educator lies in seeing that the child does not confound good with immobility and evil with activity."
Our teachers are nurturing and supportive. The role of the Montessori Teacher differs considerably from that of a traditional teacher. She observes and assists the child according to the child’s individual needs and interests. She is trained to recognize periods of readiness and to demonstrate the correct use of the educational material to the children. She reinforces in a positive manner. At times, she may encourage a hesitant child.
The teachers gain the children’s trust, which enables them to try new things and build self-confidence. Imagination and creativity flourishes in an atmosphere of acceptance and trust. Montessorians recognize that each child, from toddler to teenager, learns and expresses himself/herself in a very individual way. All staff undergoes thorough background checks, annual professional training, ongoing enrichment programs, first aid training and is CPR certified.
